A large project cannot be realized by just one party. To make sure your project is finished against your requirements for technology, time and cost, you need to have clear ideas on your contract strategy towards your contractors. After all, the cost you will incur on your project fully depends on the way you have decided to work with your contractors.

Cost Engineering has been working with all kinds of contracts for over thirty years. Our experience with contracts has been gathered in the contract strategy workshop. Prior to the workshop we will analyze your project with you. This will set the boundaries for the actual workshop.
During the preparational stage, we will also help you decide which of your stakeholders need to be on the team that will take part in the workshop. From the experience gained through previous workshops we generally suggest taking people from the following groups:
During the workshop your team will not be flooded with information about contracts, after which the decision is left up to you. The contract strategy workshop first helps you establish the main objectives of your project. Through different approaches the team will establish a ranking in the objectives. The leader of the workshop will then put your chosen objectives in perspective against the various types of contracts that are available to you. Through this process, you will see that a preference will start to evolve within the team towards a contract strategy which best fits your project.
After the contract strategy workshop you will return to your project with a clear idea on the strategy that will best suit your objectives. And if needed, a Cost Engineering professional can be asked to play an advisory role to help you convert your knowledge into a contract.
