After the sessions of the first day of the Cost Engineering Event 2009, the second day saw many of the participants join the event inspired and excited about the day to come. And none was disappointed. From a high level look at the similarities in the approach to value and risk, to a detailed insight in the factors that Heerema is dealing with in estimating, there was something of interest for everyone.
Regardless whether the subject was estimating in Iran or at Fluor or the way to deal with strategic assets, the audience proved as inspired as on the first day. As questions were asked, answers were given and discusions were raised. The atmosphere in both rooms was one of anticipation and enjoyment. And the combination of passion and practicality that drove the days speakers was contagious for the audience.
Software sessions included a look at realising the project control cycle, but also covering your complete project cost. Both practical presentations that gave attendants something to take back to their offices. And the Cleopatra at work session, the preview of Cleopatra 3.0 with Cost Engineering and Reed Business data showed the audience what that office could look like when cost engineering software would be used.
Looking back at the event, it is safe to say that there was something for everyone and that all went home inspired by speakers, demonstrations or colleagues. At Cost Engineering that has made us proud organisers of the biggest cost engineering event in Europe at this time. And as we are closing the 2009 edition, we are already looking forward to the Cost Engineering Event 2011 with more inspiring speakers and hopefully even more visitors.
