Cost Engineering at the AACE Annual Conference in San Antonio
From July 8-11 Cost Engineering visited the yearly AACE Conference, this time hosted in San Antonio, Texas. As this is one of the largest conferences about cost engineering in the world, this is an event we would not want to miss.
Together with our US partner Conquest Consulting Group, we setup a booth in the exhibition area. It's great to see the enthusiasm of all those people for cost engineering and how they – just like us – see cost engineering as a true profession. The Cost Engineering shirts and traditional Dutch 'stroopwafels' could have well been the most desirable 'gadgets' at the exhibition floor.
Of course the AACE Conference is also about presentations from experts in the field of cost estimating, project management, cost control, risk analysis, etc. Some very popular presentations were given by Larry Dysert and John Hollmann. In case you missed them, they will come also to our own Cost Engineering Event in April 2013.
We also got a lot of positive responses from the showcase session where we demonstrated Cleopatra Enterprise cost estimating software and how it can be used for maintenance and turnarounds. We even arranged an extra showcase session after the conference. Don't worry if you missed it, because next year we will definitely be present again when the conference will be held in Washington D.C.
If you cannot wait that long, our own Cost Engineering Event is already in April and promises to be at least as successful with a strong line-up of speakers!
